GTA VI Money Making Methods

(Pre-Launch Guide – Updated September 2026)
Important Disclaimer
Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026. This guide is based only on confirmed information from Rockstar trailers, the August 2026 Extended Look, developer interviews (including Rob Nelson), and reliable previews. Specific payout amounts, exact business names, and full heist details are not yet official. Everything here will be updated after launch.
1. Best Early-Game Side Hustles (First 1–10 Hours)Focus on low-risk, high-learning activities while you are still in the Leonida Keys.
Method
Risk Level
Notes / Tips
Brian Heder Debt Collections & Jobs
Very Low
Your starting income + free housing. Do these first.
Convenience Store / Local Shop Robberies
Low–Medium
You can rob almost any store. Keep it quick and low-profile.
Stealing & Selling Cars
Low–Medium
Fence stolen vehicles. Prefer ordinary cars early on.
Street Hustles / NPC Jobs
Low
Random encounters and small jobs that appear around you.
Story Missions
Very Low
Reliable seed money and unlocks.
Pro Tip: Deposit cash at your safehouse as often as possible. Carried money can be lost if you get Busted or Wasted.2. Mid-Game Side Hustles & ActivitiesOnce you reach Vice City and unlock more of the map:
  • Jewelry store and higher-value shop robberies
  • Armored truck / van hits (when they appear)
  • Racing (street, dirt, monster trucks, etc.)
  • Scuba diving / treasure hunting (confirmed activity)
  • Selling stolen goods at fences and pawn shops
  • Pool / bar games and other mini-activities for small cash
These build your bankroll while teaching the new wanted system (police can recognize clothes, face, and vehicle).3. Heist Prep & Big ScoresRockstar has shown bank robberies and larger criminal operations in trailers and the Extended Look. Expect a progression similar to previous games:
  • Early small stick-ups → mid-tier jobs → full heists later in the story.
  • Dual protagonists (Jason & Lucia) can work together or switch during jobs.
  • Prep work will likely matter (scoping, gathering equipment, choosing approaches).
Recommended approach:
  1. Complete story missions to unlock bigger opportunities.
  2. Use side hustles to fund any required prep or equipment.
  3. Treat big scores as “accelerators” — use the payout to buy your first real income sources.
Exact heist names, payouts, and solo vs. co-op requirements are still unknown.4. Passive Income & PropertiesSafehouses in GTA VI are more advanced than previous games (closer to Red Dead Redemption 2 camps). They support:
  • Saving progress
  • Changing appearance
  • Storing personal vehicles
  • Possible additional interactive features
Expected progression (based on Rockstar’s usual design):
  • Start with the free Leonida Keys safehouse (Brian Heder’s place).
  • Unlock or purchase better properties as the story progresses.
  • Later properties will likely offer vehicle storage upgrades and possibly light passive or semi-passive income.
True “set-and-forget” businesses (like GTA Online’s Nightclub model) are expected but not yet confirmed with names or numbers.Recommended Early Money Strategy (to fund your RGB car collection)
  1. Hours 0–5 → Do all Brian Heder jobs + small store robberies. Save everything.
  2. Hours 5–15 → Expand into car theft, racing, and mid-level robberies. Buy a practical getaway car only.
  3. Mid-game → Complete story missions that open bigger scores. Invest first big payout into a better property/garage.
  4. Late early-game → Start stacking consistent side activities while preparing for larger heists.
  5. Only then start spending on flashy/RGB cars and cosmetics.
Golden Rule:
Never spend money on something that doesn’t help you make more money until you have a stable income loop.
